SERIES HISTORY
When these two met on December 16, 2017, it was a frenzied, triple overtime slugfest with VSU surviving a 139-135 barn burner at the Complex. Since that game, the Blazers have won six of the last eight games in the series. VSU won the last meeting 79-73 at Trustmark Arena. Sandwich in between the two wins for the Blazers are two wins for the Falcons in the series, 97-93 in 2021 and 67-65 in 2018.

MONTEVALLO
The Falcons are riding a four game winning streak since starting the season 1-6. In their last game, the Falcons used a lethal long range attack to come from behind in a 69-62 win over Delta State on Tuesday afternoon at Trustmark Arena. UM trailed by as much as 11 points in the game before rallying to pull ahead in the second half. Four Falcons scored double-figures in the game, led by guard James "JC" McNeil who finished with 22 points. McNeil was 7-of-16 from the field, including 4-of-6 from downtown. He was also 4-for-4 from the line.
Braxton Bertolette also had four 3-pointers and tallied 16 points, while
Xavier Malcom and Travarius "Bob" Carroll contributed 15 and 14 points respectively, each dropping three bombs from beyond the arc.
Aaris-Monte Bonds didn't score in double figures, but he pulled down 10 rebounds.

The Blazers have struggled lately, losing three of the last four games, including a 87-64 setback to Lee in their last contest on Monday night. For the game, the Blazers shot 18 of 48 from the field and 10 of 19 from outside the arc. Freshman guard Ricky Brown led the Blazers with 15 points in the loss.
