MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The Falcons put it all together in the first game of the weekend series against CBU, taking a 7-1 win over the Buccaneers in Memphis.
Montevallo wasted no time as a
Sierra Easterwood homer in the first inning initially set the tone for the Falcons. A
Lauren Higginbotham triple during the second inning brought in three more runs for UM to stretch their lead over CBU. Holly LaForce-Henderson added a huge AB for UM with a homerun of her own in the sixth inning.
The Falcons had a phenomenal day of hitting, racking up nine hits as a team and were led by Higginbotham and
Kinley Adams who provided two hits each. The Falcons were surehanded in the field and did not commit a single error throughout the game.
Mychael McMillian was named the winner in the pitchers circle after allowing one run on five hits, and a strikeout over six innings of service.Â
Mabry Norris came in from the UM bullpen to provide an inning of relief.
