MARIETTA, Ga. - The Montevallo womens lacrosse team overcame the No.7 ranked NAIA team Life University, 18-8 on the road. With the win the Falcons improve to 5-1 overall.
The game was tightly contested in the initial minutes as UM was the first to add a goal to the scoreboard but was immediatly followed by two Life goals to make the score 2-1 in Life's favor.
Montevallo returned with five unanswered goals before Life would see the net again. The Falcons answered with six more goals in a row to take a 12-4 lead into the halftime break.
The Falcons finished the job in the second half over taking the Running Eagles 6-4 in scoring to end the game with an 18-8 victory for UM.
Sadie Bopst led the Falcons with three goals, along with
Caleigh Spoon,
Anja Kuys,
Hailey Wilcox, and
Kate Gammie-Baglini who netted two goals a piece.
Janey Johnson,
Brianna Shepler,
Crystal Williams,
Jodi Morawiec,
Hannah Fortin,
Eleanor Bruce, and
Natalie Dicken also contributed a goal each to the Falcons 18 points.
