BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Montevallo women's basketball players
Marisa Snodgrass and
Jordan Jones were named to the All Gulf South Conference teams, the conference office announced Tuesday.
Both have contributed to an historic year for the Falcons on the court as the team is currently ranked #22 in the nation with a fifth place regional ranking, and a 14-5 overall record. UM is ranked as the top offense in the GSC, averaging 75.8 points per game. The Falcon's are also headed to Union, Friday, for the program's first conference semi final game since the it has been a member of NCAA Division II.
Marisa Snodgrass, who was named First Team All-GSC, has been a force for UM on the court in multiple aspects of the game. The Hazel Green, Alabama native was a starter for all 19 games and is second in scoring behind
Jordan Jones with 229 points scored for a 12.1 per game average.
Jordan Jones who was selected as Second Team All-GSC has had a massive impact on the court for the Falcons. Jones, a native of Helena, Alabama was in the starting line up for all 19 games this season, as she has led the team in scoring with 252 total points to make a 13.3 per game average.
The Falcons will travel to Jackson, Tennessee to take on Union in the semifinals for a chance at the GSC Championship. The game will be played on Friday, March 5 with tip-off set for 6:00 PM CST in Jackson.
