SEWANEE, Tenn. - The Montevallo women's lacrosse team took a 17-9 win over Sewanee Saturday at Puett Field in Tennessee.  With the win the Falcons improved to 4-1 while the Tigers dropped to 1-1.
 
The Falcons were down 3-2 in the first half until the squad fired off three straight goals to take control of the game. 
The contest was competitive but UM was able to outlast Sewanee throughout the rest of the game holding the Tigers to no goals for ten minutes while adding more to the Falcon score.
 
Anja Kuys led UM scoring six times on seven shots, with nine draw controls and forced three turnovers in the win.
Elizabeth Tyler caused four turnovers and scooped up six ground balls.
Rachel Rose (2-0) saved four shots in the second half to earn the win between the pipes.
The Falcons kept the Tigers away from the net for most of the second half, allowing eight shots and won 12-of-15 clear attempts.
UP NEXT: The Falcons will take on Life University in Marietta, Georgia on Saturday, March 13 with the first draw set for 3:30.
