MONTEVALLO, Ala. - Montevallo's women's tennis team welcomed Lee University and Delta State University Sunday, April 11 and Monday, April 12 for two highly competitive conferences matchups. The Falcons dropped a close one to Lee 4-3, but came back the next day and edged Delta State 5-2Â to come out even on the weekend.
UM took two out of three doubles matches against the Flames with
Cyba Ozzor and
Eva Dirr winning one 6-3 and
Mireia Turro and
Whitney Hamilton winning the other 6-4.
The Falcons then split their singles matches. Turro, Dirr and Ozzor added wins in singles to their doubles victories from earlier.
The ladies came back the next day and played well again.
Cyba Ozzor and
Eva Dirr took their doubles match easily, 6-1 while
Mireia Turro and
Dorotea Hanzek managed to win theirs 7-6.
Dirr and Turro finished out a perfect weekend delivering singles wins again while
Victoria Rauscher won her match to give UM a clean split in the singles category.
