MONTEVALLO, Ala. - The Montevallo softball unit took care of business against Shorter taking an 8-1 victory over the Hawks in Orr Park on Senior Day. With the win the Falcons advance to 16-23 and 11-17 in conference, hanging on to a chance to enter the conference tournament.
The Falcons opened up scoring in the first inning when
Hannah Carey drove in a run off of a left field single. UM exploded in the fourth inning bringing in four runs off of the bats of
Brooke Ingram,
Alexis Cortez,
Sierra Easterwood, and
Hannah Carey all knocking in runs in the inning.
Mychael McMillan was in the circle for the Falcons earning the victory. In four inning of service the righty only allowed four hits with zero runs while striking out four and walking zero.
Mabry Norris threw three innings in relief out of the bullpen.
The Falcons racked up ten hits with Carey, Ingram, and
Monet Milligan tallying multiple hits each for UM.
Hannah Carey led the Falcons with three hits in three at bats. UM did not commit a single error in the field.
Sierra Easterwood had the most chances in the field with nine.
