RICHMOND, VA. - The College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) have announced that the University of Montevallo men's and women's swimming teams
have earned Scholar All-America honors for their efforts in the classroom last semester. The teams earned the honor after posting GPAs of 3.09 and 3.22 respectively.
Proud of the team for not only getting the job done in the pool but in the classroom as well, especially with all of the challenges we've had in the past year," remarked head coach
Aaron Mahaney.
Founded in 1922, the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA), is the nation's first organization of college coaches. The mission of the CSCAA is to advance the sport of swimming and diving with coaches at the epicenter of leadership, advocacy, and professional development.
"Coach Mahaney didn't let a difficult season stand in the way of success," noted CSCAA Executive Director Greg Earhart. "These are some of the best ambassadors of Montevallo and Athletic Director Richard, President Stewart, and
Dr. Benton Tyler (Faculty Athletic Representative) can and should be proud of these 37 men & women."
In total, 721 programs from 426 institutions earned the honor. CSCAA will name its individual Scholar All-America team next week.
