MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Montevallo men's soccer team took a 1-0 victory on the road over Christian Brothers. With the win the Falcons succeed to 5-1-1 with a 2-1-0 conference record with CBU falling to 5-3 and a 1-2 GSC record for the year.
The Falcons were neck and neck with the Buccaneers from the initial moments of the match. Montevallo found the game winning goal in the 26
th minute of the game when
Gabriele Valerio created a score in the CBU net.
Montevallo silenced the Buccaneers for the remainder of the match closing out the 1-0.
Christian Brothers outshot UM 18-8 with five on target shots compared to two for the Falcons. CBU also edged Montevallo 7-3 in corner kicks.
Salvador Plaza was in goal for the shutout making five saves during the match.
