MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The Montevallo men's basketball team picked up a 65-53 victory over CBU, Saturday afternoon on the road. With the win the Falcons are 8-8 for the season with a 6-2 GSC record, and the Buccaneers drop to 5-9 and 2-6 in conference.
Junior guard Braxton Bertolette led UM with 16 points, six rebounds, and an assist.
CBU's Opong Bramble led the Buccaneers with 12 points, seven rebounds, and an assist.
The Buccaneers battled for a quick lead in the early stages of the game, until the Falcons stole their first lead with 12:11 left in the period.
Both teams went back and fourth with multiple lead changes, but ended the half with a 24-24 tie.
The competition was just as strict in the second half, until a dunk from Jason King sparked the largest lead (42-35) with 12:49 left to play. CBU began to sneak back up on the Falcons but UM held strong for the double digit victory.
