PENSACOLA, Fla. – The Montevallo men's soccer team dropped its first contest of the season, in a 2-1 heart-breaker, on the road against West Florida.
The Argonauts scored in the 87' minute, breaking a 1-1 tie, to hand the Falcons their first loss.
West Florida opened the scoring in the 20' minute and the Falcons worked out of a deficit to even the score 1-1 following a goal from
Narcis Bou Dalmau, his fourth of the year, in the 60' minute. As both teams worked to break the tie in the final minutes, the Argos found a goal from a free-kick.
Montevallo was unable to find a chance in the final minutes and totaled a season-low three shots on goal in the match.
The loss marks the first since a 2-1 loss to Spring hill on Nov. 7, 2021. Montevallo is now 6-1-3 overall and 5-1-0 in Gulf South Conference action.
