MONTEVALLO, Ala. – Coming off a 19-point win over UAH, the Montevallo men's basketball team fell on the road, 73-57, to Lee, Monday.
Lee shot 53.4 percent from the field in the win while Montevallo struggled from the floor, shooting just 36.7 percent.
The first half featured three ties and nine lead changes as UM held a lead for nearly 12 minutes. The Falcons fell behind 12-7 just over five minutes into the contest before a 6-0, capped with a
MJ Jones three-pointer pushed UM in front, 13-12. The Falcons gave the lead right back to Lee, 14-14, but a three-pointer from
Te Smith sparked 6-2 run to put the visitors up by three, 19-16 with 7:56 remaining in the half. An 8-4 run to close the second half put the Falcons up 26-24 at the break.
Lee opened the second half on an 8-0 run to lead Montevallo, 32-26. With 15:48 to go, a
Jamarras McCray hookshot cut the deficit to four, 34-30. Montevallo was unable to trim into Lee's lead down the stretch and tailed by as many as 16 in the 73-57 loss.
MJ Jones followed up Saturday's performance with 11 points, seven boards and six assists while Mason Shifflet also added 11 points.

st | Montevallo led by two at halftime after closing the second half on an 8-4 run. There were nine lead changes in the first half and the Falcons led by nearly 12 minutes.

nd | Lee took the lead back from UM at the start and opened on an 8-0 run. The Flames would hold its lead the rest of the way, leading by as many as 16.
GAME NOTES
- The loss dropped UM to 2-5 overall, 1-3 in the GSC and 0-3 on the road.
- For the second straight game, freshman MJ Jones led Montevallo in rebounds (seven) and assists (six). He was also one of UM's two leading scorers at 11 points.
- A 53.7 shooting percentage from the floor helped the Flames over Montevallo.
- Lee dominated the paint, outscoring the Falcons 42-22.
