MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The University of Montevallo men's basketball team dropped a road contest, 91-76, to Christian Brothers, Sunday, in Memphis, Tenn., following a blistering offensive performance from the Bucs.
The Falcons shot an abysmal 15.6 percent from the field in the first half but rallied in the second half, shooting 56.1 percent. However, the 60-49 scoring advantage in the second half wasn't enough as Montevallo was unable to overcome a 42-16 half-time deficit.
Christian Brothers extended its halftime lead to 30, 54-24 before a 18-5 run for Montevallo, capped with a
Mason Shifflett jumper, trimmed the deficit to 17, 59-42. A layup from
Braxton Bertolette extended a 6-0 run and made it a 12-point game, 66-54 with 7:16 to play. CBU quickly pushed back in front and controlled the score the rest of the way while shooting a staggering 64.6 percent from the field and 65 percent from three, handing Montevallo its fifth road loss of the year.

GAME NOTES
- Christian Brothers shot 64.6 percent from the field and 65 percent from three on 13-20 shooting from deep. The Bucs shot 71.4 percent (15-21) from the floor in the second half.
- Montevallo shot 38.4 percent from the floor and 18.4 percent from deep. In the first half UM finished just 15.6 percent from the field and 5.2 percent from three-point range. In the second half, Montevallo turned it around, shooting 56.1 percent from the floor and 31.5 percent from three.
- Four Falcons scored in double-figures as Bertolette led the way with 20.
- Freshman Tyler Moore added a career-high 16 points and a team-high five assists to go along with three steals.
- Graduate Jaylon Tharpe contributed a season-high 17 points on 4-of-7 shooting from deep.
- Mason Shifflett added 13 points and a team-high six boards.
- Montevallo won the turnover battle 19-5 and outscored CBU 22-8 in points from turnovers.
