SERIES HISTORY
The history between the two teams has been one-sided since it's inception back in 1984 when the Lady Statesmen won 76-62 at Myrick Gym at Montevallo. The Falcons have only won twice in the 20 meetings. The first UM victory came in 1997 when the Falcons knocked off DSU 90-78 in Montevallo. It would be 23 years before the Falcons would win in the series again. On Nov. 23, 2019, the Falcons snapped a 12-game losing streak to DSU, beating the Lady Statesmen 79-70 at Trustmark Arena. In the last meeting, DSU defeated the Falcons 77-68 at Trustmark Arena in December of this season.
GSC TOURNAMENT CHASE
The Falcons still remain in the final tournament spot, but West Georgia and Alabama Huntsville are creeping dangerously close. A win would go a long way toward punching a ticket to the party, and strangely enough, the Falcons can actually move up. Currently, UM is tied with Christian Brothers for seventh place at 7-11. West Georgia is 6-10 and UAH is 4-12. There are no clinching scenarios available for the Falcons, but one thing is for sure, losing the last two games would not be helpful.
TEAM HIGHLIGHTS
MONTEVALLO
The Falcons have hit a pothole on the stretch run to the postseason. The latest setback in a four-game losing streak took place on Thursday night at Mississippi College. The Falcons fell 75-62 to the Choctaws. UM fell way behind early, mounted a brief rally but couldn't sustain it in the second half.

DELTA STATE
Delta State allowed just nine points in the fourth and three Lady Statesmen scored in double figures in a 60-52 win over Auburn-Montgomery on Thursday evening. Ke'Vonshaye Stackhouse led the way with 13 points and 13 rebounds in the win. Camryn Davis added a team-high 15 points for the Lady Statesmen in the game.
