TIGERVILLE, S.C. – The Montevallo women's lacrosse team collected its second win of the season Friday night with a 15-13 win over North Greenville at Pepsi Stadium. With the win head coach
Adrianna Piontek's squad advances to 2-2 for the season while NGU drops to 1-4 overall this year.
The Falcons filled up the stat sheet with scoring contributions from seven different players, led by sophomore midfielder
Rylee Horton with four points off of four goals, two draw controls, a ground ball, and a caused turnover.

Junior
Rachel Rose started in goal for Montevallo and tallied four saves in 60 minutes.
The Falcons got on the board in the first 2:03 after
Anja Kuys netted a free position opportunity, followed by an additional goal from Kuys less than a minute later for a 2-0 lead with 11:58 left in the first.
Rylee Horton found Montevallo's third unanswered goal of the game with 10:19 on the clock. The Crusaders managed to sink their first goal soon after, to make the game 3-1. UM outscored NGU 2-1 for the remainder of the period to set a 5-2 lead by the end of the quarter.
Montevallo opened the second frame with
Anja Kuys netting her 10
th goal of the season in the first 00:55 seconds of the second. NGU quickly followed suit with a goal of their own from Dani O'Meara. In similar fashion as the first, the Falcons outscored North Greenville 2-1 by the end of the quarter for a 9-4 lead at the half.
In the third quarter UM wasted no time increasing its lead after
Lily McCormick notched UM's 10
th goal of the evening.
Hailey Wilcox sank the Falcons 11
th goal before the Crusaders found an answer with a goal from Kaitlin O'Brien to set the score at 11-5 with 5:01 left in the third. McCormick hit her second goal of the game in the final stretch of the quarter but NGU answered with a goal soon after, making the score 12-6 at the end of the period.
The Crusaders struck first in the fourth quarter, hitting their seventh goal of the game with 12:58 left in the game. NGU answered with an additional goal from Kylie Keen cutting Montevallo's lead to 12-8 with 12:19 on the clock. The Falcons pushed their lead to 15-9 with the game winding down, but the Crusaders set off three unanswered goals before UM needed a timeout at 3:21. Keen hit an additional goal in the final minute of the game but the Falcons held off the North Greenville comeback efforts to secure the two-point victory.
NGU won the draw control battle 17-14, but the Falcons held the edge 14-6 in ground balls, and completed an impressive 20 out of 21 clear attempts.
