MONTEVALLO, Ala. --- The Montevallo baseball team rolled to a 12-2 win over North Georgia on Tuesday afternoon. The Falcons captured their 20th win of the season, improving to 20-6. Meanwhile, North Georgia fell to 14-11.
Next Up: The two teams will meet again on Wednesday at 2 p.m. ET.Â
Pitching
Logan Samuels (1-0) earned the win for the Falcons after pitching five hitless innings, striking out six batters. Daniel Courtney (1-3) took the loss for UNG. He surrendered five runs on five hits and had one strikeout.
Falcons Leaders
The Falcons had 17 hits in the game. Designated hitter
Jake O'Connell led with three hits. He was 3-for-4 with an RBI. Four other Falcons had two hits apiece.
Will Pratt was 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs.
Reed Latimer was 2-for-4 with and RBI and a stolen base.
Matt Simon was also 2-for-4 with two RBI and a walk, while
Asa Awbrey had two hits in five trips to the plate.
