MONTEVALLO - The Montevallo women's lacrosse team slid past Lewis University 12-8, Wednesday night at home. With the win the Falcons advance to 3-4 overall this season.
The Falcons notched the scoreboard with the first goal but the Flyers soon followed with four unanswered goals to set a 4-1 lead with 9:55 left in the second quarter. Montevallo answered with a scoring spree of seven goals before Lewis found their fifth goal for a 8-5 UM lead with a few minutes left in the third.
Lewis never gave up in the fourth quarter as they managed to find three additional goals but it would not be enough to get them passed the gritty Falcon unit.
Riley Horton led Montevallo with three goals, three ground balls, two ground controls, and a caused turnover.
UP NEXT: The Falcons return home to face Lenoir-Rhyne University, with the first draw set for 12:00 PM on Saturday, March 13th at Montevallo.
