MONTEVALLO - The Montevallo baseball team earned two additional wins over #20 West Florida, notching a sweep for the weekend series. The Falcons are now 26-8 overall this season, with a 11-6 Gulf South Conference record.
UP NEXT: The Falcons are set to host Columbus State, with the first pitch set for Wednesday, April 6th at 5:00 PM.
The Falcons took a 10-4 win in the first game of Saturday's double header.
Sam Kuchinski hit a double to right field with two on base to give the Falcons an early 2-0 lead. West Florida added a run in the fourth inning after Jadon Fryman made his way home from third base.
Brandon Moore hit a homerun in the fourth that provided UM with a 4-1 lead. West Florida cut into the Falcons lead in the fifth, adding to runs to the scoreboard. The Falcons took off on West Florida in the sixth inning, adding six runs in one inning.
Montevallo kept the winning effort in the second game, taking the Argo's 7-2. A
Ben Teel single opened up the Montevallo scoring efforts as
Asa Awbrey made his way home for a score.
West Florida found a few runs in the game but the hot Falcon offense was too much to overcome as UM held on for the win.
