OXFORD, Ala. - The Montevallo baseball team fell 10-6 in a hard fought battle against top-seeded Delta State, Sunday afternoon at the GSC Baseball Tournament. With the loss the Falcons conclude . the season with a 36-15 (.706) overall record and a 19-11 (.633) conference record.

Bottom 1st
The Statesmen jumped out ahead of the Falcons after a ground out to the short stop gave DSU's Chad Ragland an opportunity to score. Delta State tabbed another run after
Blayke Dendy singled to bring in Hayden White for a 2-0 lead.
Top 3rd
Jake Smallwood sacrificed himself to bring in
Riley Cain for the Falcons first run of the game.
Reed Latimer aided UM to another scoring chance after he singled through the left side to bring home
Ben Teel for the game tying run.
Top 6th
Zen Hiatt stepped up and hit a two run bomb to right field, giving the Falcons their first lead of the game
4-2.
Bottom 7th
The Statesmen tied the game after a sac bunt and a sac fly brought in two runs in the seventh inning. DSU kept the bats hot in the inning as they brought in two additioinal runs to take the lead 6-4.
Top/Bottom 8th
Montevallo created two runs to tie the game after HIatt sac flied to bring Latimer in, and
Alex Langford singled to bring home
Will Pratt.
DSU notched four runs in the inning to retake the lead 10-6.
