Montevallo Comes From Behind to Force 2-2 Tie on the Road

HARAGOTE, Tenn. – The University of Montevallo men's soccer team tied Lincoln Memorial 2-2 in a come-from-behind effort on the road Sunday afternoon.

In the first road contest of the season, the Falcons fell behind 2-0 when the Rail Splitters scored a pair of goals in the first 41 minutes of action.
 
Less than two minutes into the second half, Edorta Cabieces Sanz trimmed the LMU lead to one when he netted his first goal off the year off an assist from Otger Vendrell in the 46th minute.
 
Vendrell recorded his third point of the match in 77th minute when he added his first goal of the year to even the contest 2-2.
 
Montevallo held off the home side the rest of the way and played the final 33 minutes down a man after Mario Gratzl was issued his second yellow card.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
 
14' | Otger Vendrell placed the first shot of the day on frame but it was stopped by LMU's Alan Johnson.
17' | Salvador Plaza made his first save of the day, stopping a shot from Hunter Stroble.
25' | LMU's Harry Cooke scored the first goal of the game to lead Montevallo 1-0.
41' | Montevallo fell behind 2-0 when Peter Majer added another goal for LMU.
46' | UM's Edorta Cabieces Sanz found the back of the net for the first time this season, off an assist of Vendrell, making it a 2-1 game.
