MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The University of Montevallo men's soccer team tied Francis Marion, 2-2, Wednesday night on Varsity Field.
Montevallo used the first 46 minutes to gain a 2-0 advantage over the Patriots.
Narcis Bou Dalmau claimed the first goal, putting a ball from
Edorta Cabieces Sanz in the back of the net. Cabieces Sanz extended the Falcons lead to two, 2-0, after connecting on a well-time ball from
Otger Vendrell that was sent ahead by Bou Dalmau.
In the 49
th minute, FMU's Jose Sposaro cut the Montevallo lead to one. With just 23 second left, the Patriots goalkeeper connected on a header from a free kick, tying the contest.
After FMU tied, the Falcons were unable to respond in the ensuing 23 seconds, ending in a tie for the second time this season.
