Men's Soccer Moves to 4-0 in GSC Play With Win Over Shorter

MONTEVALLO Ala. – The Montevallo men's soccer team earned its fourth-consecutive conference victory after defeating Shorter 3-0 on Friday night to move to 5-0-3 overall with a 4-0-0 conference record.
 
Senior goalkeeper Salvador Plaza recorded his fourth clean sheet of the season and his third in a row after stopping all five of Shorter's shots on goal in 90 minutes of action.
 
Montevallo's offense was highlighted by goals from three different Falcons. Gabriele Valerio opened the scoring in the 23rd minute off a pass from Brock Barbee. Mark Shoebridge scored his first goal of the season in the 78th minute with the assist going to Otger Vendrell. Senior defender Mario Gratzl also found the back of the net for the first time in 2022 in the 85th minute with assists from Narcis Bou and Hugo Cakurda.
