CLEVELAND, Tenn. – The University of Montevallo volleyball team swept its final two matches of the Lee Invitational Tournament, Saturday in Cleveland, Tenn.
Montevallo opened the day with a dominant 3-0 sweep over Erskine before capping the tournament with a 3-0 sweep over Saint Leo.
The Falcons recorded their third sweep of the season with a dominant victory over Erskine, 25-6, 25-16, and 25-15, to begin the day. Montevallo trailed just once in the match, leading from start to finish in the first two sets. The Falcons recorded a season-high .388 hit percentage in the match and outscored Erskine in kills, 42-17. Three Falcons hit .500 or better in the sweep as
Allie Dishman led the effort with 12 kills at a .579 clip.
Macy Martin hit .529 with 11 kills and
Morgan Hoffman added six kills while hitting .500.
To close out the day Montevallo took care of Saint Leo in their fourth sweep of the year, 25-17, 25-19, 25-18. The squad registered a .314 hit percentage and edged the Lions in kills 43-33. Montevallo also held a large advantage in blocks, 8-2.
Aliyah Thompson totaled nine kills in the match and hit at a .571 clip while
Jillian Morgan recorded seven kills at a .636 clip. Dishman led the team with 10 kills in the match.
On the day,
Allie Dishman led the Falcons with 22 kills while
Casey Hendrixson compiled 40 digs for 6.6 digs per set.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Set 1
- Montevallo opened the match on a 11-2 run to lead the Fleet.
- An 8-0 run down the stretch, capped with a kill from Kamble Frenette, put the Falcons up 23-5.
- Consecutive kills from Frenette and Dishman clinched the first-set win, 25-6, the largest margin of victory in a set this season.
Set 2
- Montevallo jumped ahead of the Fleet to begin the second set when back-to-back kills from Morgan Hoffman and an Erskine error capped a 9-4 opening run.
- The Falcons remained in control throughout the set and took the win 25-16 following a kill from Jillian Morgan and a service ace from Erin Latham.
Set 3
- Erskine gained a lead of the Falcons early in the first set, 5-3.
- Montevallo used a 6-1 run to take a 9-6 advantage over the Fleet.
- The Falcons controlled the third set the rest of the way and closed on a 5-0 run, winning the third set 25-25 and the match, 3-0.

Set 1
- In the early goings on the first set, a 7-0 run put the Falcons on top 12-3, following a Thompson kill.
- A 4-0 scoring run gave Montevallo a 12-point advantage, 16-4, mid-way through.
- After the Lions cut Montevallo's lead to five, 22-17, the Falcons rattled off three points in a row to win, 25-17.
Set 2
- Saint Leo opened ahead of the Falcons, 10-7 in the second set.
- Four straight Montevallo points, including a trio of kills, gave the squad a three-point lead, 16-13.
- Kamble Frenette capped the second set-win for the Falcons with a kill, 25-17.
Set 3
- Saint Leo opened on a 3-0 run to start the third set before the Falcons used a 7-0 run of their own to lead, 7-3.
- Leading 21-18, Montevallo used a 4-0 scoring spurt to finish the sweep, winning the third set 25-18 and the match 3-0.
