Box Score MONTGOMERY, Ala. -  The University of Montevallo volleyball team snapped a 10-match win streak with a 3-2 loss on the road at AUM, Friday.  

In a tightly-contested battle, the Falcons fell short offensively, hitting just .178 in the match.
 
After falling behind to start the match, 25-22, Montevallo responded with a 25-16 win in the second set. Just when the Falcons took the momentum back from the home-side, AUM put Montevallo away 25-14 in the third.
 
A gritty 25-20 victory in the fourth set for Montevallo forced a tie-breaking fifth. AUM took the fifth, 15-11, to narrowly edge the Falcons.
 
Macy Martin led the Falcons with 18 kills while hitting at a .255 clip and registering a double-double with 13 digs. Allie Dishman hit .387 with 16 kills.  
 
Montevallo drops to 4-1 in conference play with the loss.

• Montevallo hit .178 in the match while AUM hit .218.
• Four Falcons recorded double-digit digs as Casey Hendrixson led the way with 15.
• Martin led the way with 18 kills while Dishman had 16. Montevallo recorded 55 kills in the match while AUM managed 58.
• AUM edged the Falcons in blocks, 16-14.
• The Falcons had 11 service aces in the match. Dishman recorded a team-leading four aces.
• Sav Roys totaled 25 assists in the match while Colton Thompson added 21.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Set 1

• A 7-0 run early on the in the first set put the Falcons on top, 12-5, following an AUM abll-handling error.
• Mid-way through, a service-ace from Allie Dishman extended Montevallo's lead to six, 16-10.
• With the Falcons up 20-17, a 5-0 scoring spurt from AUM put the Warhawks on top, 22-20.
• A Falcon attack-error gave AUM the first set-win, 25-22.

Set 2

• Montevallo bounced back in the second set, and opened with a 10-5 lead early on, following a Dishman kill.
• Another Dishman kill put the Falcons up seven, 17-10, capping a 7-5 scoring advantage.
• Macy Martin pushed the lead to double-digits, 23-13, with a kill.
• Dishman capped the set-win, 25-16, with a kill, as the Falcons evened the match 1-1.

 


 
Set 3

• The third set was a back-and-forth affair until AUM broke a 13-13 tie with a 5-0 run to take an 18-13 lead.
• An attack error halted the Warhawks' momentum before a seven-point scoring spurt gave AUM a 25-14 win in the third set.

Set 4

• AUM opened the fourth set on top, 7-2.
• Montevallo worked out the deficit to pull within one, 7-8 after a kill from Macy Martin.
• A 5-2 Warhawk run put the Falcons behind 13-9.
• An 8-2 run, capped with a Jillian Morgan kill, tied the contest, 18-18.
• The Falcons added four more points to the scoring-spurt to lead 22-18.
• A block from Sav Roys and Morgan Hoffman secured the set win, 25-20, forcing a tie-breaking fifth set.

Set 5

• A quick start for the Warhawks put the Falcons behind 4-1.
• A Martin kill trimmed the deficit to one, 5-4.
• AUM pushed its lead to four, 13-9, following a 4-0 run.
• AUM won the set 15-11.
