BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Gulf South Conference has announced the 2022 Fall All-Academic teams and the Fall Honor Roll, Friday, with numerous Falcons making the list.
The University of Montevallo landed five on the All-Academic squads and 76 on the Honor Roll.
Men's Soccer earned three on the All-Academic squad in
Edin Hernandez,
Edorta Cabieces Sanz and
Simon Wittmann.
Hernandez is pursuing a masters in Exercise and Nutrition Science and has earned a 3.91 cumulative GPA. In addition, he has earned a plethora of honors both on and off the pitch, including being named a College Sports Communicators Academic All-American and First Team All-GSC honoree.
Cabieces Sanz joined Hernandez on the All-GSC First Team and was a CSC Academic All-District selection while earning a 3.52 GPA as a Business Marketing major.
Wittmann landed on the All-GSC Second team and the CSC Academic All-District squad as an Exercise and Nutrition Science major with a 3.93 GPA.
Volleyball featured two on the All-Academic team selections in
Allie Dishman and
Casey Hendrixson.
Dishman compiled several post-season accolades, including being named to the CSC Academic All-District team and a First Team All-GSC selection while pursuing a degree in Biology/Pre-Med with a 4.0. She was also an American Volleyball Coaches Association All-America Honorable Mention.
Hendrixson was named the GSC Libero of the Year and First Team All-GSC selection while earning a 3.319 GPA as an Exercise and Nutrition Science major.
Women's Soccer led the way for the Falcons with 22 named to the Honor Roll.
In order to qualify for the honor roll, student-athletes must achieve a 3.0 cumulative GPA and have competed against outside competition in the fall semester.
