MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The Montevallo women's swimming team dropped a dual meet to Ouachita Baptist, 114-71.5, on senior day, Friday, while the men fell 10-7-77.
Prior to Friday's meet, Head Coach
Aaron Mahaney recognized nine seniors including several who were part of the first four-year class in program history.
The men's squad finished the 20-event dual meet with 12 podium finishes and four wins. Following up his performances from Wednesday and Thursday, senior
Jacob Rubin again found success, this time winning the 500-yard freestyle by a margin of 19.44 seconds with a time of 4:54.23. He also earned a win in the 100-yard freestyle at 47.20 seconds. Senior
Thom Naccarato, a member of the first class in program history, earned a pair of wins as well, winning the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 54.03 and the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 1:59.20.
Nicolas Ioannides finished second in the 1,650 freestyle with a time of 7:18.50 while senior
Connor Daigle finished second in the 100-yard and 200-yard breaststroke.
Harrison Dorsey posted a time of 2:01.59 for a second-place finish in the 200-yard backstroke.
The women's team finished the dual meet with nine podium finishes and four wins. Senior and one of the founding members of the program at Montevallo,
Molly Hansen, earned a pair of individual wins in her final time competing at the SAC Natatorium. Hansen won the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 109.13 and the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:35.25.
Beth Balent earned an individual win for the women's squad, posting a time of 2:13.55 in the 200-yard butterfly.
The 400-yard freestyle relay team of Hansen,
Amanda Ware,
Cypris Wilkinson and
Lexi Cardwell finished tied for first with a time of 3:48.79.
