MONTEVALLO, Ala. – Montevallo women's soccer is slated to travel south to take on in-state foe Auburn Montgomery on Friday, Oct. 13.
So Far This Season…
Montevallo enters the contest after snapping a 3-game skid with a 1-1 draw against Spring Hill on Sunday, Oct. 8. The Falcons opened the season with a 3-1 record in the non-conference schedule with wins over Kentucky Wesleyan, Trevecca Nazarene and West Alabama before opening GSC action with a scoreless draw against West Georgia. Montevallo then rattled off a three-game unbeaten streak with wins over Valdosta State and Shorter and a draw with then No. 19 Lee. The Falcons struggled for three games with losses against West Alabama, Alabama Huntsville and No. 21 West Florida before getting back on track with a 1-1 draw against Spring Hill.

AUM enters the weekend two points behind the Falcons in the league table with a 2-5-1 GSC record and a 3-8-1 mark overall. The Warhawks struggled through the early going of the season with a 1-3 record in non-conference action. AUM began conference play with three consecutive losses to Valdosta State, West Georgia and Lee before grabbing its first GSC win with a 5-0 victory over Shorter. The Warhawks then drew with Alabama Huntsville before falling to West Alabama on Oct. 1. Last week, AUM defeated Spring Hill 2-1 before falling to West Florida, 1-0, on Oct. 8. The AUM attack is headed by Laia Gonzalez who leads the squad with nine points from three goals and three assists.
Series History Against AUM:
In nine meetings since 2003, the Falcons hold a 6-2-1 record over the Warhawks. Auburn Montgomery's only wins in that time came in 2003 and 2010 with both being 1-0 victories for AUM. The two sides took a draw in 2012 before the matchup went on a hiatus until 2017. In each of the last six games, the Falcons have come out the victor with 2022's match going to the Falcons, 1-0, on Sept. 24, 2022.

Morgan Goehring lead the Falcons in the assist department with three each. The Falcons' two-headed goalkeeping corps featured
Emily Hounsell with a .816 save percentage and
Jolie Cazale with a .800 save mark. The two Falcon keepers have allowed just nine goals in twelve games played.
