MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The University of Montevallo volleyball team is headed to Orlando, Fla for the Sunshine State Conference and Gulf South Conference Crossover on Oct. 20-21.
Last Time Out
The Falcons are fresh off winning both matches last week. They defeated Union 3-2 on Oct. 13 and swept the Christian Brothers Buccaneers on Oct. 14.

GSC-SSC Crossover Match Notes
About Montevallo
The Falcons step out of conference play for the last time this season as they prepare for the annual SSC-GSC Crossover. Montevallo will face off against Embry-Riddle, Rollins and Eckerd as the Falcons have a combined 1-4 record against those three teams.
Allie Dishman had her best hitting percentage of the season against Christian Brothers with a .632 mark. Dishman is ninth in the GSC with a .287 hit percentage on the season while she is second on the Falcons with 159 kills, second with 20 service aces and she leads the team with 52 total blocks.
Colton Thompson had an impressive weekend as she totaled 75 assists, 21 digs, eight kills, seven blocks, one service ace in two matches. Thompson leads Montevallo with 449 assists on the season and has the fifth most in the GSC.
Morgan Hoffman and
Allie Dishman have a combined 100 total blocks on the season while Dishman is ninth in the conference with 52 blocks.
Scouting Embry-Riddle
The Eagles are 12-6 on the season but have dropped their last three matches, all of which were sweeps. Embry-Riddle is currently top-five in the Sunshine State Conference in digs, service aces, blocks and total attacks.
Jaden McBride leads ERAU with 236 kills (four per set) and 22 service aces on the season. Grace Datil is fifth in the SSC with 468 assists while she is third on the team with 121 digs.
Tamzen Wilson has the most digs for Embry-Riddle with 248 and defensively, the Eagles has five players with 30 or more total blocks.
Montevallo is 0-3 against Embry-Riddle all-time.
Scouting Rollins
The Tars come in the crossover with a 10-9 after going 2-1 last week with wins over Florida Tech and Palm Beach Atlantic and a loss to Nova Southeastern. As a team, Rollins has the second highest kill total at 859 with a top-five hitting percentage at .224.
Lana Gerard leads the Tars with 239 kills while Jadyn Troutman is seventh in the conference with 218 kills and a hitting percentage of .289.
Rollins is dangerous from behind the serving line as they lead the SSC with 121 service aces. Lana Gerard has 29 aces, Jenna Garza with 20 and Natalie Horsley has 18.
Adriana Lopez leads Rollins defensively as she has 274 digs and she is third on the team with 39 assists.
Montevallo has matched up four times with Rollins since 2003 and the series is tied at 2-2 record.
Scouting Eckerd
The Tritons are a top team in the country and have received votes in the AVCA D2 rankings every week. With a 15-3 record on the season, they are second in the Sunshine State standings and trail undefeated Tampa by three matches.
As a team, Eckerd is second in the SSC in points, hit percentage, total blocks and service aces.
Eckerd has five players on the team with over 100 kills and they have six players that have over .200 hit percentage with 200 or more attacks.
Kaili Schoening leads the conference with 80 total blocks while Jaida Clark has the third most in the SSC with 68.
The Falcons lost the only matchup against the Tritons in 2016.
