MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The University of Montevallo volleyball team is ready to step back into GSC play with a midweek matchup against West Alabama on Wednesday, Oct. 25 in Livingston, Ala.

The Falcons are coming off a trip to Orlando, Fla. where they competed in the GSC-SSC Crossover where they took on Embry-Riddle, Rollins and Eckerd.
Allie Dishman had a nice weekend where she totaled 31 kills, eight service aces and five total blocks.

About Montevallo
The Falcons are looking to make it seven in a row against the Tigers as Montevallo has not lost to UWA since Oct. 25 of 2019. The Tigers have never won in Montevallo but have a 4-3 record at home against the Falcons.
UM is fifth in the Gulf South with 973 kills, sixth in assists and total blocks, and second with 1385 digs.
Allie Dishman leads the Falcons with a .309 hit percentage in 434 total attacks. The Carrollton, Ga. native also is first on the team with 28 service aces and 57 total blocks.
Colton Thompson eclipsed the 500-assist mark for the third time in her career as a Falcon. Thompson is currently fifth in the GSC with 505 assists while she's closing in on a career-high for digs in a season (243).
Casey Hendrixson recently moved to third all-time in Montevallo Division II history with 1591 career digs while she is fifth with 305 digs on the season and third with 4.24 digs per set.
Scouting West Alabama
The West Alabama Tigers come in with a 4-20 overall record while having a 1-9 record in GSC play. The Tigers have only one win in the month of October and have lost five straight.
UWA is dominant while serving as they are third in the Gulf South with 175 aces on the season and second with 2.06 aces per set.
The Tigers are led by Ally Craig who has the most kills with 174 and Jaida Alvin who comes in with the second most with 163.
West Alabama has five players with 20 or more aces while Berfin Mertcan has the most with 30.
Defensively, the Tigers have 109.5 total blocks and are just shy of the 1000 dig mark as a team with 994 on the season.
