MONTEVALLO, Ala. – Montevallo women's soccer is scheduled to take on Mississippi College and Delta State at home in the final weekend of the regular season.
So Far This Season…
The Falcons boast an 8-4-3 overall record with a 5-3-3 mark in conference action. The Falcons dominated the non-conference schedule, going 3-1 with the lone loss coming against a ranked Nova Southeastern squad. Montevallo opened conference play with a 0-0 draw against west Georgia before taking back-to-back wins over Valdosta State and Shorter. The Falcons hit a rough patch after tying No. 19 Lee, going 0-3 aginst West Alabama, Alabama Huntsville and No. 21 West Florida. Montevallo rebounded with a 1-1 draw against Spring Hill before defeating Auburn Montgomery, 3-1, and Union, 2-0. Most recently, the Falcons defeated Christian Brothers 2-0 on Oct. 22. Montevallo heads into the weekend as the No. 6 team in the GSC standings, just one point out of third.

MC comes into the matchup with a 9-2-2 overall mark and an 8-2-1 record in GSC play. The Lady Choctaws began the season with a 1-0-1 record in the non-conference schedule. MC fell to West Florida in its first GSC match before defeating Spring Hill, 8-1. Mississippi College's last loss came on Sept. 22 when the Lady Choctaws fell to Christian Brothers. The Lady Choctaws then defeated seven-consecutive opponents with a 13-0 win over Shorter highlighting that stretch. Most recently, MC tied with Lee, 1-1, on Oct. 22. The MC frontline is headed by Erin Hederman's six goals and eight assists for a team-high 20 points. The defense is led by Jessi Carro with a 7-2-1 record in goal and an 0.80 goals against average.

Delta State enters the weekend with a 4-11-1 record overall and a 3-8 mark in conference. DSU struggled in the early going, posting a 1-3-1 record in non-conference play. The Lady Statesmen opened the GSC schedule with three straight losses to Spring Hill, West Florida and Union before taking a 1-0 win off Christian Brothers. DSU then fell to Mississippi College and Valdosta State before rebounding with a 1-0 win over West Georgia. DSU dropped contests with Alabama Huntsville, West Alabama and Lee before defeating Shorter, 5-0, in its most recent matchup. The Lady Statesmen attack is led by Ava Webster with five goals while five other DSU players have scored three goals each. The back line is headed by Bailey Daugherty with 49 total saves and four shutouts.
Series History Against Mississippi College:
Historically, Montevallo has struggled against the Lady Choctaws, posting a 1-6 record since 2014. To open the series, MC took each of the first three matches before Montevallo grabbed its lone win in 2018. Most recently, Montevallo fell to Mississippi College, 6-2, on Sept. 11, 2022.
Series History Against Delta State:
Montevallo holds a 9-3-1 record over DSU since 2004. The series began with five-consecutive Montevallo victories from 2004 to 2008. Delta State took its first series win in 2015. The Falcons took three of the next four with the lone tie in the series coming in 2017. Delta State would rattle off two-straight victories before the Falcons defeated DSU, 2-1, on Sept. 9, 2022.
