MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The University of Montevallo volleyball team is set to defend home court against Mississippi College on Saturday, Oct. 28. The volleyball team will be celebrating senior day before the match.
Last Time Out
The Falcons are coming off a five-set win against West Alabama in Livingston on Oct. 25. Montevallo dropped the first two sets then pulled off the reverse sweep as they took the final three sets from the Tigers.

About Montevallo
The Falcons are looking to get hot as the postseason is right around the corner as they clash with the Mississippi College Choctaws who own the same record as Montevallo in GSC play (7-4). In their previous matchup with MC, the Choctaws won in five sets on Nov. 4, 2022.
Alex Koontz is coming off an impressive match where she was one kill shy of her season-high 17 kills. Koontz also had her best hitting percentage of the season with over 20 attack at .419.
Macy Martin and
Allie Dishman both had 14 kills against the Tigers on Wednesday. Martin and Dishman have the first and second highest number of kills on the team (Dishman: 204, Martin: 195) while Dishman has the 10
th most in the Gulf South Conference.
Colton Thompson has been fantastic for the Falcons as she racked up 38 assists and 18 digs against West Alabama. Colton now has 543 assists on the season and has the fourth most in the GSC.
Scouting Mississippi College
Mississippi College comes in with an overall record of 9-12 while being 7-4 in GSC play. The Choctaws are looking to snap a three-match losing streak as they have dropped matches to Alabama Huntsville, Florida Southern and #3 Tampa.
The Choctaws are led by outstanding junior Lydia Paulette who has the most kills in the conference with 325. Lydia is fourth on MC with 27 service aces while also contributing 19 total blocks.
Mississippi College is fifth in the GSC with a .190 hit percentage while they are fourth with 163 service aces.
