MONTEVALLO, Ala. – Montevallo men's soccer pulled out a 1-1 draw against Spring Hill with a late Falcon goal on Sunday evening.
Montevallo applied pressure from the kickoff with five Falcon shots in the first 11 minutes of action. Senior
Otger Vendrell fired Montevallo's first shot on goal at in the 12th minute before
Hugo Cakurda made the SHC keeper work with a second UM shot on frame.
A Falcon yellow card in the 24
th minute lead to a Spring Hill penalty kick goal to leave Montevallo trailing 1-0.
The Badgers looked to add another goal to its total but two save from
Tomas Valles Gilbert kept the score at 1-0 heading into the half.
Spring Hill held control in the early going of the second with three Badger shots before Montevallo' Vendrell took the Falcons' first shot of the half in the 65
th minute.
The Falcons began a relentless attack in the 76
th minute with Cakurda putting another shot on frame for the first of five-consecutive Falcon shots.

George Rathmill found Montevallo's equalizer with a header in the 86
th minute off a corner from
Julius Rahmig.
Cakurda nearly gave the Falcons a victory with a shot on target in the 89
th minute but was denied by the SHC keeper for Montevallo's second draw of the season.
