HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Montevallo women's soccer's championship campaign came to an end with a 3-0 loss to unbeaten Lee in the Gulf South Conference Championship game.
The Lady Flames were on the attack early and often with the first shot of the game coming in the fourth minute. The Falcons warded off another Lee scoring chance with a blocked shot but Lee found the game's first goal just 9:18 into the contest.
Montevallo struggled to control possession midway into the game with Lee taking another pair of shots in the 18
th minute.

Emily Hounsell made their first save of the day in the 33
rd minute to spark a Montevallo counter attack that led to the Falcons' first shot of the game off the foot of freshman
Morgan Goehring in the 34
th minute.
Kaeri Ward proved to create Montevallo's best scoring chance in the first half with a shot on goal just before the break.
Hounsell was forced to make a second save in the 47
th minute before Lee found its second goal of the match in the 48
th minute.
Lee saw a pair of scoring chances with the Falcons still struggling to gain possession before the Lady Flames added the third and final goal of the day in the 63
rd minute.
Montevallo's attack could not find the back of the net with a pair of shots from
Marica Miljanovic and
Angelina Rivas, falling in the Falcons' third appearance in the conference championship game.
