Box Score HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – In the Gulf South Conference season opener, the University of Montevallo men's basketball team fell to the University of Alabama-Huntsville, 100-70 on the road.
Montevallo fell behind early on to a hot-shooting Charger offense that opened the game 7-of-7 from the field. The hosts foot remained on the gas, shooting 64.5 percent from the field in the first half.
After falling behind by 11 at the first media timeout, a pair of Falcons runs made it a four-point game. However, UM was unable to cut further into the deficit and UAH built a 55-38 lead at the break.
In the second half, UAH continued pouring in shots from the floor for a 67.2 percent field goal percentage on the day, to win 100-70.
Jaylen Curry led UM in scoring with 16 points.

st | UAH opened the contest 7-of-7 from the floor and jumped out to a 17-6 lead at the first media timeout. UM responded with a 10-4 run to cut the deficit to five, 21-16 following a three-pointer from
Landon Butler and
Charlie Champagne. Over the final 8:22 of the half, UAH outscored Montevallo 28-16 to lead 55-38 at the break.

nd |Both sides traded buckets to open the half but the Falcons were unable to slow down the hot-shooting Chargers as the home side added 45 points in the second half.
GAME NOTES
- UAH shot 67.2 percent from the field and 47.5 percent from three while UM was just 49 percent and 35.7 percent respectively.
- Points off turnovers proved to be a large difference in the game as UAH scored 39 points on 26 UM mistakes, while Montevallo added just 15 points on 15 Charger turnovers.
- Jaylen Curry led a group of three Falcons scoring in double-digits with 16 points.
- Montevallo out-rebounded UAH 27-22, led by Charlie Champagne with five.
