MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The University of Montevallo men's and women's swimming teams are ready to host Birmingham-Southern College on Saturday, Nov. 4 in the SAC Natatorium.
The men's and women's teams are coming off second place finishes at the Sewanee Invitational on Oct. 27 and Oct. 28.
Montevallo Men
Montevallo will look to
Janek Barczyk for another strong performance as he took first-place in the 50-yard Breast, the 50-yard Free and the 100-yard Breast while he also placed first with the team of
Jimmy Franck,
Kevin Watkins and
Jack Rodgers in the 200-yard Free Relay.
Connor Daigle is fresh off taking first in the 100-yard IM with a time of 54.24. The fifth-year senior from New Orleans has a first-place finish at every meet so far this season.
The men are 4-4 against the Panthers all-time, the Falcons won their most recent matchup on Jan. 21 133-128.
Montevallo Women
Maja Krawczyk is seeking to repeat her performance in the 50-yard Back as she took first with a time of 29.18.
Keara McGee will be looking to improve her seventh-place time of 1:04.43 in the 100-yard IM.
The team of
Danielle Davis,
Isa C. Duarte,
Isabel Harris and
Cypris Wilkinson placed in third last meeting in the 100-yard Free Relay coming in with a mark of 49.78.
The women have only beaten BSC once and the Panthers took the last meet by a score of 183-114.
