MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The University of Montevallo women's lacrosse team dropped its first game of the year to No. 7 Tampa, 19-4, Friday.
The No. 7 ranked Spartans opened the night with six-straight goals in the first period. graduate midfielder,
Anja Kuys added the first point for the Falcons at the 5:02 mark in the first on a free-position shot. Tampa added a pair of goals to close out the quarter.
Montevallo added its second goal with 1:41 to go before the half when sophomore midfielder
Kiley Shea added a free-position goal.
Out of halftime, graduate midfielder
Crystal Williams scored a third goal for UM following a ground ball for
Jenna Piazza. Tampa answered the Falcons with two more goals before She added her second goal of the night at the 7:16 mark in the third. Montevallo was held scoreless the rest of the way, falling 19-4.
