MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Montevallo women's tennis team fell to No. 2 seed Auburn Montgomery in the first round of the Gulf South Conference Championship. 
 
The Falcons opened the day with a win in the doubles point after Lieselette Hartlöhner and Greta Vagnini handled the No. 3 match with a 6-0 victory. No. 2 duo Eva Dirr and Erika Freire secured the point with a 6-4, giving the Falcons a 1-0 lead heading into the singles matches. 
 
Montevallo was outmatched in the singles competition with AUM taking four matches to seal the team victory. Mireia Turro battled in the top singles slot but, eventually fell 7-5, 6-3. After falling in a first set tiebreaker, Cyba Ozzor lost the second set to the No. 49 player in the nation. Montevallo would go on to lose No. 4 and No. 6 singles to leave London Breedlove and Dirr in unfinished matches. The Falcons' season ends with a 4-1 loss to AUM.
