St. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – For the first time in Peach Belt Men's Lacrosse history, Montevallo will not appear in the championship game after the Falcons fell to Flagler, 15-13, in the PBC Tournament semifinals.
Montevallo fell behind, 2-0, early in the first quarter after the Saints scored two unanswered inside the first four minutes of the game. A man-down goal from senior midfielder
Chaiton Williams cut the Flagler lead in half. FC added a third first-quarter goal before
Jackson Klewchuk found the mark for the first time on the day to make the score 3-2 after the first.
A back-and-forth second quarter started with an early Flagler goal at the 12:59 mark. Senior attacker
Scott Friant hit the back of the net off a pass from
Jacob Obee to pull Montevallo back within one. Flagler scored a fifth goal off a Falcon turnover before stretching the lead out to 6-3.
Zach Reed and
Zach Laberge went back-to-back to trim down the Saints advantage to just one goal. Following another FC goal, a man-up strike from
Connor Frederick pulled the Falcons back to within a goal with just over two minutes left in the half. Flagler added a goal in the final seconds left Montevallo in an 8-6 heading into the locker room.
Out of the half, freshman
Morgan Trites found the mark for the first goal of the second half before Flagler answered with a goal of its own. Reed's pass found a cutting
Matthew Boas who fired a shot that found the mark to out the Falcons back within one. The Saints scored two goals before
Trevayne Hunter and Connor Federick added a pair of goals in the final two minutes of the quarter. The Falcons threatened to tie the game at 11 but three-straight Flagler saves closed the door.
Flagler looked to end the game with a trio of unanswered goals to extend its lead to 14-10 with 8:53 remaining. Friant ended the Saints scoring run with a strike off the following faceoff. Williams found the mark for the second time of the day with 3:19 to play to make the score 14-12. A final Flagler goal with just over two minutes left put the game out of reach for Montevallo even with a Laberge goal.

- Scott Friant, Zach Laberge, Chaiton Williams, and Connor Frederick each found the back of the net twice.
- Jackson Klewchuk and Trevayne Hunter led the Falcons with three points each on one goal and two assists apiece.
- PBC Defensive Player of the Year Alex Egorshin had a solid day in the net with 14 saves on 51 shots faced.
