PENSACOLA, Fla. – The University of Montevallo's season came to an end Saturday with a 3-0 loss to West Florida in the NCAA South Region semifinal.
Both sides were held scoreless through the first five innings but three runs in the sixth for the Argos proved to be the difference.
The Falcons found themselves in scoring position several times but left nine men on base throughout the contest.
Despite the loss, the Falcons finished the year with 39 wins – the most in 16 years - and advanced in the NCAA South Regional for the first time in as many years as well.
The 18 seniors on the 2023 left a legacy that will be known for years to come.
"This is one of the best groups of kids I've ever had the pleasure of being around," said Head Coach
Chandler Rose. "I can't express how thankful I am that they took us on this ride this year. This group is everything you want in a student-athlete, as a team, GPA, and community service. I want people to know how good of humans these guys are."
