ROME, Ga. – Montevallo women's soccer added three points with a its second 6-0 win of the season after defeating Shorter on the road.
The Falcons jumped out to an early lead after
Alea Taube's header found the back of the net just 98 seconds into the game an assist from Falcon midfielder
Tina Palmieri.
Madysen Legere looked to add a second in the fifth minute but was turned away by the Shorter defense.
With Montevallo holding control of the ball for much of the first half, the Falcons fired four shots on goal before freshman striker
Lainey Farabaugh doubled the Falcons' lead with her second goal of the season.
UM nearly added a third just before the break with back-to-back corner kicks but settled for a 2-0 lead heading into the half.
Out of the break, Montevallo's offense went to work early with nine shots in the first eight minutes and change before Legere scored her first goal of the season after an impressive effort from
Miranda Fragoso for the assist.
The Falcons went back on the attack immediately with
Kieran Burkey moving into scoring column with her second goal of the season off an assist from
Tori Ochoa to give Montevallo a 4-0 lead in the 54
th minute.
Montevallo added its fifth goal of the night with a
Kaeri Ward shot on the top shelf from just outside the 18-yard box in the 76
th minute.

Miranda Fragoso scored her first goal of the season off a pass from
Morgan Goehring to lift the Falcons to its final score of 6-0.
