MONTEVALLO, Ala. – After a short stint at home, Montevallo men's basketball returns to the road this week for a rematch with No. 13 West Georgia on Saturday, Jan. 20, at 3 p.m. in the Coliseum.
Montevallo (7-10, 6-7 GSC) returns to the road for its fourth away game in the last two weeks, riding a three-game win streak, including two consecutive games on the road.
The Falcons moved one game back of .500 and into ninth place in the GSC standings with a Wednesday night win over West Alabama, 77-65.
West Georgia (14-2, 10-2), ranked No. 13 in the latest poll, welcomes the Falcons with a five-game win streak of their own.
In the previous meeting between these two programs, Montevallo walked away victorious, 72-69, to hand the Wolves their first loss of the year. West Georgia then fell to UAH to close out the road trip but has since returned to its winning ways with five straight victories in 2024.
Montevallo brings its 4-1 record in January to The Coliseum to face a Wolves side that is 8-0 at home in the year and 5-0 in the month.
During UM's hot stretch, freshman
Brandon Fussell led the charges with 19.6 points per game. Against Valdosta State, he tallied a career-high 30 points before adding 22 against AUM. In the return home against West Alabama, he scored 27 and shot a staggering 7-of-8 from three-point range.
Camron Donatlan is the current hot hand for West Georgia. He was named GSC Player of the Week last week after scoring 23 points a game.

Last time out, Montevallo defeated the No.3/4 Wolves at home 72-69, for the highest-ranked win since 2012. The loss was UWG's first of the year.
