Montevallo Falls to UAH at Home, Henderson Scores 26

Box Score MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The University of Montevallo men's basketball team dropped its second game in a row, 86-70, to Alabama Huntsville for the first time in over a month.
 
The Falcons dropped to 7-12 overall and 6-9 in Gulf South Conference play with the loss.
 
Montevallo took an early lead, 19-15—the largest of the game—following a free-throw from Aidan Gardiner and three three-pointers from Cam Glover. The Chargers, however, surged ahead with a 13-4 run to lead 28-23. Over the final 5:20 of the first half, UAH outscored the Falcons 17-5 to lead 45-28 at the break.
 
Montevallo passed its point total from the first half in the second with 42 points, including 15 from Jack Henderson, to edge UAH by one. UAH stayed ahead, though, and added eight more threes to its total of 20 in the game. A three-pointer from Cole Maddox cut the lead to as little as 14 down the stretch, but it wasn't enough as the Falcons fell 86-70.
 
Henderson led Montevallo with 26, tying his season high.

 1st | UAH outscored the Falcons 45-28 in the first half and shot a stout 12-of-26, 51 percent, from three-point range. The Falcons led by as many as four early on behind nine quick points from Cam Glover. The Falcons shot just 28 percent from the floor and 21 percent from three in the first half. 
2nd | Montevallo outscored the Chargers by one 42-41, including 15 second-half points from Jack Henderson. UAH continued to hit from deep, though, and added eight three-pointers in the second half.
 

GAME NOTES
  • Montevallo dropped its second consecutive game for the first time since Dec. 10.
  • The Falcons finished 11-of-35 from three-point range but allowed a season-high 20 three-pointers to UAH as the visitors shot 42.8 percent from long range.
  • Jack Henderson tied his season-high with 26, including 15 in the second half.
  • Montevallo led for nearly six minutes and by as many as four, while UAH held a 23-point lead at one point and was on top for over 30 minutes.
  • The Falcons outrebounded UAH on the offensive glass 9-8 but UAH held a 14-10 advantage in second-chance points.
