Box Score MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The Falcons fell to Alabama Huntsville in the final seconds after the Falcons clawed back from an 11-point fourth-quarter deficit.

Montevallo added a pair of free throws to take an 8-5 lead before the Chargers went on an 8-0 run to regain control with 2:43 to play. With the Chargers leading 13-8, Montevallo's Marisa Snodgrass converted an old-fashioned three-point play at the 2:16 mark to snap the run. Following a UAH lay-in, sophomore Savannah Cook nailed a three off a pass from Snodgrass to trim the UAH advantage down to one. A minute later, Isabel Grimes knocked down a pair of free throws to give Montevallo a 17-16 lead. UAH ended the quarter with two-straight buckets to head into the second with a 19-16 lead.

The Falcons and Chargers traded buckets to open the second half with Leisha Steger scoring five of Montevallo's points in the early going. With 6:32 on the clock, Snodgrass poked it away from UAH and pushed it in transition for a Lia Edwards mid-range jumper. A pair of Snodgrass free throws sliced the lead to just three before a UAH three on the other end extended the lead to 49-43 with 5:35 on the clock. The Falcons defense clamped down to force UAH to remain scoreless for the next 2:15 but Montevallo couldn't cut the lead to less than four. A 5-1 run from the Chargers to end the quarter left Montevallo trailing, 55-46, heading into the fourth.

UAH took its largest lead of the game in the opening minutes of the fourth quarter despite the Falcons answering each bucket. A UAH triple opened up an 11-point hole for Montevallo before Cook added another deuce in the paint to bring the lead back down to single digits. With the Falcons holding the Chargers scoreless, Cook added another pair of free throws to make the score 62-55 with 5:21 to play. Grimes cut the lead down to five moments later with another successful trip to the line. A Smallwood three at the 2:34 to play continued the Falcons run after UAH looked to end the run with a bucket moments before. With the Chargers leading by just four, Snodgrass sliced through the defense and laid it home to cut the lead to 64-62 with 1:51 to play. A Cook spin move with less than a minute on the clock tied the game at 64 apiece with 58 seconds to play. Moments after the Chargers regained the lead at the charity stripe, Cook came up clutch with a three from the top of the key to give Montevallo its first lead of the second half. Smallwood extended the Falcons lead out to three with a perfect trip to the stripe with 15.9 to play. The Charger answered with a clutch three with 7.7 seconds remaining. A costly foul with 1.1 on the clock sent UAH to the line where a 1-for-2 mark sent the Chargers over the top and handed Montevallo a 70-69 loss.
