CLEVELAND, Tenn. – Montevallo women's basketball fell on the road at Lee on Saturday afternoon.
The Falcons opening points of the game came in the form of a
Marisa Snodgrass three after
Leisha Steger pulled down on offensive board in the early stages. A 6-0 Lee run gave the Lady Flames a 10-3 lead until a triple from A.K. Eastman in the corner ended the early run following a steal on the defensive end. Montevallo took the lead with another Snodgrass three at the 3:14 mark before
Savannah Cook extended a 12-0 run with a corner three for a 15-10 UM lead. Lee answered with three of its own on the next possession before free throws sent the game to the second quarter with a 17-16 Montevallo lead.
Lee regained the lead with an 8-1 run as Montevallo went scoreless from the field before the second quarter media timeout. Montevallo's defense held the Lady Flames to a scoreless 4:13 to close the half while producing three turnovers and a block over that stretch. A Steger lay-in cut the lead to 26-21 with the final points of the half.
Isabel Grimes opened the second half with Montevallo's first five points of a pair of free throws and a shot from long range in the first minute of the half to trim the lead down to 29-26 with 8:50 to go. The Lady Flames used an 11-2 run to go up by 12 before forcing a Montevallo timeout with 2:36 to play. With Lee outscoring the Falcons 27-13 in the third, Montevallo headed to the fourth trailing 53-34.
Lee took its largest lead of the game with a 7-0 run to start the fourth quarter before Steger put the Falcons back on the board with 6:40 to play. All 17 of the Falcons' fourth quarter points came after the Steger bucket but Montevallo couldn't overcome the deficit and fell 69-51 on the road.

HOW IT HAPPENED
1ST | The Falcons' three-point shooting proved to be the difference in the first with Montevallo going 4-for-7 from beyond the arc. Snodgrass led the team with 6 points in the quarter.
2ND | Montevallo struggled in the second quarter with just four points on 1-for-11 from the field.
3RD | The Falcons were outscored by 14 points in the third quarter with Lee shooting 55 percent from the floor.
4TH | Montevallo looked to make a comeback with a 7-for-15 mark in the third quarter but couldn't overcome the deficit.
GAME NOTES
- Savannah Cook led the Falcons on the offensive end of the floor with 12 points of 5-of-12 shooting while Isabel Grimes and Lia Edwards added nine apiece.
- Lee dominated the paint with a 44-14 advantage in scoring down low.
- The Falcons lost the turnover battle, 18-17, with Lee converting those to 21 points.
