MONTEVALLO, Ala. - The University of Montevallo Athletic Department officially unveiled newly renovated VACCA Hall, Wednesday, Oct. 9.
VACCA Hall, previously damaged by a tornado in 2022, was completely renovated to create coaches' offices and locker rooms for men's lacrosse, women's lacrosse, wrestling and acrobatics and tumbling. The facility also includes a practice room for wrestling and A&T. Additionally, the men's and women's golf coaches' offices are housed in the facility.
"We are extremely excited and grateful to unveil VACCA Hall and provide a home to four of our programs," said Vice President for Athletics and Special Programs. "It's not every day you get to welcome a new facility, and we are beyond happy to do that. This is truly a first-class facility. I can't thank Dr. Stewart enough for his support on this project as well as Physical Plant Director Coty Jones and members of his staff for their efforts. This will be a great asset to our student-athletes."
The newly renovated facility provides dedicated spaces for the abovementioned sports while consolidating them into a centralized location. In addition, the facility features a large multi-purpose space that can be used for team meetings, film study and study hall.
VACCA Hall is adjacent to the University of Montevallo Track and Field Lacrosse Complex where both the men's and women's lacrosse practice and game fields are located.
