CLINTON, Miss. – The Montevallo men's soccer team dropped a road match to Mississippi College 4-1 on Friday night.

Cristobal Porter got things started for Montevallo early with a shot that went high left in the first four minutes. Mississippi College responded with a shot on goal a minute later, testing Andre Etcheverry who recorded his first save of the night.

The Choctaws next shot attempt would find the back of the net, as MC jumped ahead 1-0 at the 20^th minute.

The Choctaws continued to push with two more shots on goal, but saves by Montevallo in the 35' and 37' kept the deficit at just one goal. The Falcons earned its first shot on goal of the game in the 39^th minute, which came off the foot of Porter, but a Choctaw save would keep UM off the board. Etcheverry provided one more save in the half (40'), as MC took the 1-0 lead into the break.

The Choctaws extended its lead to 2-0 early in the second half with a goal in the 46^th minute. MC added another goal in the 56^th minute, taking a 3-0 advantage. The Falcons looked to respond, as Porter fired a shot on goal a minute later, but it was saved by the MC keeper. The Falcons continued to push, as Joshua Owens added another UM shot on goal in the 63^rd minute.

Montevallo finally got its opportunity to respond, as the Falcons were rewarded a penalty kick in the 70^th minute. Cristobal Porter took advantage of the penalty, scoring his sixth goal of the season and cutting the MC lead to 3-1.

Porter fired two more shots on goal, but the Falcons were unable to find the back of the net for the rest of the contest. MC added one more goal in the 86^th minute to take the 4-1 victory.
