Montevallo Lands League-High Eight Players on GSC All-Conference Team

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Montevallo women's soccer set a program-record with eight all-conference selections, as announced by the Gulf South Conference Friday afternoon.

 The Falcons led the GSC this season with four all-conference members on both the first team and the second team with Emily Hounsell, Marica Miljanovic, Morgan Goehring, and Isabel Dillehay landing on the first team. Lola Martinez, Rilee Bradbury, Shadia Valenzuela and Lainey Farabaugh rounded out Montevallo's selections as the four second-team honorees.
 
Hounsell, a graduate keeper from Brighton, England, earned their spot on the all-conference team after posting a league-high eight shutouts with just 17 goals against and a .754 save percentage. Hounsell set a season-best with 10 saves in the Falcons' matchup with No. 2 Columbus State on Nov. 6. The graduate played every minute in goal during the regular season with starts in all 17 Montevallo games for the GSC's most minutes played at 1,530.
 
Miljanovic earned her first-career all-conference selection after playing 16 games in Montevallo's backline with 15 starts for a total of 1,317 minutes played. The senior defender scored one goal and added a pair of assists for a total of four points on the season. Miljanovic led a Montevallo defense that posted eight shutouts and allowed just seven goals in conference play.
 
Goehring received her first All-GSC nod after starting 15 games this season for a total of 1,113 minutes of action. The sophomore midfielder led the Falcons with five assists while scoring five goals for a total of 15 points on the season. Goehring became just the third Falcon this season to score multiple goals in the same game with two-goals in Montevallo's 2-2 tie with Clayton State on Oct. 30.
 
Dillehay rounds out the Falcons' first team selections after starting all 17 games for the Falcons with 1,126 minutes played. The sophomore led Montevallo with seven goals which rank third in the GSC, including a pair of game-winners against West Alabama and Alabama Huntsville. The Centennial, Colo. native also added a pair of assists for a team-high 16 points.
 
Martinez, a freshman defender out of Redlands, Ca., tallied a pair of defender of the week selections as part of a Falcon backline that allowed just seven goals during the conference schedule. The freshman helped lead Montevallo to eight shutouts on the season with a season-low two shots from Trevecca Nazarene on Oct. 19.
 
Bradbury earned her first-career all-conference selection after playing in all 17 games for the Falcons with a total of 1,145 minutes of action. The senior transfer tied a Montevallo high with five assists on the season while scoring a pair of goals for a total of nine points. The Covina, Ca. native set a career-high with four points on two assists and a goal in Montevallo's win over AUM on Sept. 18.
 
Valenzuela added Montevallo's second forward to the all-conference team after appearing in 17 games this season with six starts. The junior from Buenaventura, Colombia finished second on the squad with six goals while adding a pair of assists for a total of 14 points. Valenzuela set a season best with two goals in Montevallo's win over Christian Brothers on Oct. 2.
 
Finally, Farabaugh garnered her first all-conference selection after starting all 17 games for the Falcons with 1,021 minutes of action. The sophomore forward scored a total of five goals on the season while leading the GSC with four game-winning goals. Farabaugh's five goals rank T-4th among GSC leaders.
 
Montevallo heads into the postseason with a matchup against seventh-seeded Mississippi College on Sunday, Nov. 10 at 4 p.m.
