MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The University of Montevallo men's basketball will travel take on Christian Brothers and Union in the final road trip of the regular season this week.
First, the Falcons will travel to Memphis, Tennessee for a clash with the Buccaneers who are currently fifth in the conference standings, Thursday, at 7:30 p.m. Earlier this season, Montevallo topped CBU at home, 72-68, on Jan. 2.
To conclude the week, UM will head to Jackson, Tennessee, looking to avenge a Dec. 31 loss, 83-58, against Union, Saturday, Feb. 17, at 4 p.m. Union sits one spot behind Montevallo in the conference standings in ninth.

So Far This Season…
The Falcons enter the third-to-last week of the regular season with just five games remaining and currently hold a one-game lead over Union for eighth place in the Gulf South Conference standings. The final road trip of the regular season begins with the Falcons riding a three-game win streak following victories over Delta State, Mississippi College, and Shorter.
Over the course of the season, UM's offense has consistently ranked toward the top of the GSC. The Falcons have taken a slower-paced offensive approach as of late but have shot the ball at a high efficiency and rank fourth in the league with 79.9 points per game. The defensive side has been a weak point for the Falcons, however, over the last three games UM is allowing just 69.6 points per game and is outrebounding its opponents 110-79.
Three-point shooting remains a staple of Head Coach
Anthony Komara's squad this season as the Falcons are second in the league with 243 three-pointers made, averaging 10.6 per game. Over the past three games, UM is making its season-average from deep at 43.2 percent. From the floor, Montevallo is shooting 48.8 percent during the same stretch.
Scouting Christian Brothers
Much like the Falcons, Christian Brothers enters the week hot and is on a four-game winning streak. The Bucs currently sit in fifth place in the GSC standings at 11-7 in league action and 13-8 overall.
CBU hosts Montevallo following four straight wins over Mississippi college, Union, Valdosta State and West Florida.
The Bucs' offense ranks one spot behind UM's offense at 79.3 points per game and is allowing 72.3 points per game defensively—the fifth best mark in the league.
Christian Brothers in the top rebounding team in the conference at 40.0 per game. The Bucs held a plus-seven advantage in rebounding against UM in the previous meeting this season, but efficiency from the floor gave UM one of its few wins when losing the rebounding battle.

Brandon Fussell was named the GSC Freshman of the Week for the second consecutive week and third time overall this season. The Guntersville, Alabama native led UM with 25 points in the road win at Shorter. Currently, he is averaging 12.7 points per game during the season but is averaging 17.0 points per game during the 2024 calendar year. He has scored 20.3 points per game during the current three-game winning streak as well. Fussell leads Montevallo in assists with 3.2 assists per game.
Junior Cam Glover is Montevallo's leading scorer with 16.0 points per game 70 three-pointers made. His 3.0 three-pointers made is second in the league. He has scored in double-figures in 21 of 23 games this season and is on a 20-game double-digit scoring streak.
