MONTEVALLO, Ala. – On Saturday, Mar. 2, the Montevallo men's basketball team will host AUM in a must-win game, at 4 p.m., in Central State Bank Arena.
With one game remaining in the regular season, the Falcons need a win and will hope for a Union loss to clinch a spot in the Gulf South Conference tournament as the No. 8 seed.
The final regular season game of the year will begin at 4 p.m., following Senior Day in which the Falcons will honor
Jack Henderson and
Charlie Champagne.
Montevallo enters the matchup after a 1-1 week at home last week that was capped off with a 91-83 win over West Florida behind 50 points from
Brandon Fussell.

AUM enters the final game of the regular season at 11-16 overall and was previously eliminated from the GSC tournament with an 8-15 record. The Warhawks come to Montevallo on a one-game losing streak, following a loss to Valdosta State, and are 2-2 over the last four games.
Series History against AUM
Montevallo and AUM meet for the 16th time since 2016 on Saturday, Mar. 2, in the regular season finale. The Falcons lead the series 10-5 and have a 6-0 advantage at home. Montevallo and AUM have split the last four meetings with the home team winning just once, which was a 86-78 victory for the Falcons on Jan. 13, 2024.

Brandon Fussell has taken over for the Falcons in the second half of the season and has been named the GSC Freshman of the Week four times this season, all in 2024. He is averaging 14.3 points per game and is coming off a week in which he averaged 36 points per game, including 50 points against West Florida.
Cam Glover leads the team with 15.7 points per game.
In addition, Fussell leads UM with 3.3 assists on the year while
Jack Henderson leads Montevallo on the boards with 4.9 a night.

Malachi Rhodes leads UM in points per game with 14.6 while Jalen Gaston is close behind with 14.2 per game.
Additionally, Rhodes is third in the GSC with 7.4 rebounds per game and has the fourth-best field goal percentage at 52.5.
