GENEVA, OH – The University of Montevallo men's swimming's Aleksei Kolesnikov places in 17^th in the prelims of the 100-yard fly at the NCAA Division II Nationals on Thursday, Mar. 14.
 
Sophomore Aleksei Kolesnikov was in the fifth heat of the 100-yard fly prelims where he placed in seventh for the heat and 17^th overall. Kolesnikov had a 50-yard fly split of 21.82 and finished the second down and back in 25.79 for a total time of 47.61.
 
Aleksei Kolesnikov is the first Falcon to compete in the butterfly at nationals in program history. This is his highest finish at nationals and he is also the first sophomore to compete at nationals in Montevallo swim program history.
